Pfizer’s best-selling cholesterol drug Lipitor, when given at high doses, cuts the risk patients will be hospitalized for heart failure by 26 percent, researchers said. Their study, appearing in Tuesday’s journal Circulation, found that the 80 milligram dose of Lipitor provided more protection against heart failure than the standard 10 mg dose. — bloomberg news
